The United States Marine Corps has expanded its order of Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACVs) from BAE Systems under an additional $195 million contract providing for the production of 30 more ACV-30 variant units.

With this, the total number of vehicles of this model requested under the program now exceeds 150 units.

Equipped with a 30 mm cannon, the ACV-30 was designed to enhance troop firepower in amphibious operations, enabling the engagement of targets at greater distances. The ACV family is described by the manufacturer as a next-generation platform, engineered to increase mobility, protection, and versatility in amphibious landing and coastal combat scenarios.

In addition to the ACV-30, BAE Systems maintains active contracts for other versions of the vehicle, such as the ACV-P, intended to transport 13 fully equipped Marines plus three crew members, and the ACV-C, configured for command and control missions with multiple internal workstations.

The company has also produced three test units of the ACV-R, a variant focused on field maintenance and recovery, which will feature a crane integrated by the U.S. government at the Anniston Army Depot. Production of the new ACV-30 vehicles will take place at industrial facilities in Pennsylvania and South Carolina, where integration of the combat turret is also carried out by the United States government.
